Michael Hepburn & Company was formed in March 1980 and on April 4th 1980 held its formal opening ceremonies at the new offices in Star Plaza, Nassau Bahamas. The firm started with three employees and approximately twelve local clients. In June 1990, the firm opened its second office in Freeport, Grand Bahama in the Kipling Building with a staff of two persons. The philosophy of the firm at the time and still so today is to provide a wide range of Accounting, Auditing and Bookkeeping Services.

In 1976, Michael Hepburn was appointed Financial Director of the Broadcasting Company of the Bahamas and was responsible for all financial and accounting systems in the corporation including radio and television.
In 1982, Leo joined Price Waterhouse in Nassau as a Staff Accountant where he assisted in audits of major privately held and Government owned corporations.In 1987, he joined Michael Hepburn & Co.
